The revolution will be televised, features protest signs from the black lives matter demonstrations. On May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill. Protests began when the black community decided to demand justice for George Floyd. In some cases, the protests were to also demonstrate issues of police brutality in other countries. The black lives matter protest took place in over 2,000 cities in the US and around the world.

'The revolution will be televised' is based on the 2020 protest illustrating years of institutionalised racism towards black people. The protest signs give an introduction to the injustice black people have experienced for many years. The continuous discrimination towards their race, throughout history and within present life, needs to come to an end.

The perspective of the painting, allows you to feel as you are part of the crowd, as the art piece stages a protest. The signs in the crowd have been taken from protests from around the world. They are hand-selected to articulate the discrimination and injustice for people on the outside to understand, the inequality towards black people.
